What is Girl Power Hour?
Girl Power Hour is the celebration by the kidlit community of the International Day of the Girl. On or around October 11th, each year, kidlit creatives come together to celebrate and promote the representation of girls in kidlit as well as support diversity. This year we will celebrate with a two-day kidlit conference! Hone your kidlit craft and learn about the business of kidlit with strong women in the industry. Opportunities for FREE mentor sessions and other kidlit goodies will be raffled throughout the day! Location: Girl Power Hour 2026 conference will take place via Zoom platform. Time: The conference runs from 6pm-9pm (Eastern) on October 7th and 8th. All sessions will be recorded for later reviewing by registrants. Includes: + Two day access to presentations by industry experts. + Access to a two first pages critiques (share your work or listen in!) by agents from Galt & Zacker Literary & Storm Literary + Opportunity for FREE mentor sessions and other goodies raffled throughout the day. + Access to presentation recordings to listen & learn as often as you'd like through 2026. +Open submissions to Galt & Zacker Literary Agency, Storm Literary Agency, Gnome Road Publishing, Dream Jar Publishing, Picnic Heist Books, inbetween books, and The Little Press The full schedule and details can be found on the "Schedule" tab. |
